facebook status - Public Camouflage: Make-Up Artist Makes Models Invisibl

Illusion relies on expectation – we glance but only glimpse what is familiar and the rest blends neatly into the background, particularly as we go about our busy lives in a bustling urban center.
As nifty as these body-painted costumes by Carolyn Roper (viaDailyMail) are, the reactions of passers by are the best part – a shocked bus rider or fruit-stand shopper caught in their moment of surprise by waiting photographers.
To complete the spectacle, every element is critical, from the lines of reflection on a vehicle to the details of fresh vegetables drawn on to carefully mimic tomatoes, beets, pumpkins and lettuce.
The stunts were a marketing move by Really TV for a CIA drama titled Covert Affairs – it is hard to say how well such guerrilla marketing campaigns translate to new viewers for television shows, but thanks to publishers picking up the story, well, surely a few of those spooked by these urban camouflaging antics will check out this show about spooks.

facebook status - Super Skyscrapers! 20 Concept Towers That Reach Sky High

Architects are all dreamers. While their special projects and grand ideas often aren’t considered practical enough to be created, looking at their concepts is a great way to see the potential that architecture holds in the future, as creativity and beauty is increasingly rewarded.
(Images via skyscrapernewseikonographiaigreenspot)
The top left skyscraper is a dream of architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill, planned to be created in Dubai. The architecture firm TVS Associates came up with an even crazier concept for four towers, also planned for Dubai. Guess where that last building is being planned for? Yep, Dubai! Oppenheim came up with this gorgeously flowing Marina and Beach Tower.
(Images via webecoistibuildthetowereamusing)
Designer Michael Jantzen loves to design towers with a fun, open aesthetic and a functional purpose (in this case, generating wind power while providing a beautiful view). The Watts towers are a famous one man project built in an abandoned lot by Sam Rodia, showing that some of these concepts can be built, even if it’s on a small scale. The final image is the back of a solar tower being built for the 2016 Olympic games being put on in Rio. The back has a gorgeous waterfall, and the front, featured below is equally stunning.
(Images via architecturepeanutsadistinctiveworldmetaefficientimpactlabinhabitat)
The Atrium City Towers, created by Adrian Smith, are a concept design for a series of connected towers to be constructed in Dubai. The front of Rio’s 2016 Olympic Games torch is a gorgeous structure, which will get a lot of use even after the games. These waterfront structures are planned for a Malaysian waterfront, and were designed by Studio Nicoletti Associati. Created for an Olympics, the “falling towers” building in Beijing, China (concept shown) are now a reality in the city. The Almaty Twin Towers are going to be built in Kazakhstan. They were designed by Norman Foster.
(Images via yankodesignurbikae-architect)
Zaha Hadid designed the “dancing towers” which reject the typical idea that towers have to be perfectly vertical. The Dubai Towers (now a canceled project) were also more fluid than most, adding a literal twist to the typical tower. The Nomas towers in Bahrain are an interesting concept and almost look like smoke stacks more than mixed use buildlings.
(Images via ecofriendctbuhskyscraperpageluxurylaunches)
The Fog Tower was designed by  Alberto Fernandez and Susana Ortega and would stand at the edge of the Atamaca desert, absorbing moisture and creating a beautiful haze. the Singapore Towers are a wild twist on the typical tower, with several sections hanging off of a central core, and creating an incredibly unique look. This 101 story tower was designed for Dubai (where else?) and while it would stand out remarkably in most other cities, it says something about Dubai’s architecture that this one seems almost mundane. The Z10 Towers, designed by Dinesh Doshi, are mixed use and remarkable for their appearance, and the fact that they are surrounded by water.
(Images via greendiaryskyscrapercity)
The Moda-Gakuen Spiral Towers were designed for Nagoya City, Japan and have a stunning fluidity that is perfect for a structure on the edge of the water. Mumbai has this interesting design, an over 50 story building developed by Godrej Construction that is somewhat reminiscent of building blocks.

facebook status - A-cero is Awesome: 12 Dynamic Ultra-Modern Dwellings

Spanish architecture firm A-cero is known for its striking modernist villas in its home country, as well as a growing body of international work. Influenced by contemporary sculpture, A-cero’s residences are sprawling arrangements of geometric shapes, curves and ramps in stark white, gray and black marble and concrete. Here are 12 of the firm’s most impressive private homes, including a high-end apartment renovation.

Open Box House

(images via: freshome)
Inspired by the modern works of Spanish sculptor Jorge Oteiza, A-cero’s Open Box House on the outskirts of Madrid consists of textured, angular concrete shapes complimented by the simplicity of a Japanese garden. The dramatic entrance includes bright, colorful LED lights set into the floor, and surrounding the home are several reflecting pools with geometric stepping stones.

Concrete House II

(image via: dezeen)
A single-story house doesn’t have to be less visually interesting than larger, multi-story residences. A-cero gave this low-lying home near Madrid concrete ‘fins’ that are occasionally filled with soil and planted with grass, creating slopes that lead up onto the roof.

House in Somosaguas

(images via: archdaily)
A-cero’s ‘Home in Somosaguas’ almost looks like a massive house boat from the side, especially when seen adjacent to a large reflecting pool. Stacked, staggered horizontal shapes create interior living spaces as well as outdoor terraces and a rooftop pool.

1001 Nights House

(images via: adelto)
Perhaps among the most unusual homes of the last decade, A-cero’s 1001 Nights House in Madrid features sloping outdoor surfaces that resemble skate ramps. The architecture firm brings out the colored LED lights to an even more dramatic effect, highlighting the curves and geometric forms as well as pools of water in white stone beds.

Three-Level House in Madrid

(images via: freshome)
Responding to a request by the homeowners to create a multilevel house that makes the most of the plot of land and also takes advantage of beautiful views, it’s safe to say that most architects wouldn’t have put forth a design that looks like this. A-cero says “The formal solution has been the result of an aesthetic look for categorical volume playing with their own heights and shapes and the surrounding environment.”

Memory House

(images via: freshome)
Perhaps one of A-cero’s most conventional-leaning creations, Memory House fits into its suburban surroundings while maintaining the firm’s signature sculptural style. The three-level home features an exterior made of white marble, bamboo and a combination of angular and curving shapes.

Casa de Campo

(images via: archdaily)
Though from most angles, this home looks unlike most other residences in the Dominican Republic, the sloping shapes of the roof greeting the pool in the back yard are suggestive of more traditional beach huts. The home is made of an indigenous stone that pays tribute to the seaside location and also reflects lots of light within both exterior and interior spaces.

Marbella House

(images via: archdaily)
Working with a difficult sloping home site, A-cero crafted a luxury residence with staggered levels that enable sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea. The main level includes a large rectangular pool, and just above it is a first-floor bedroom with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors.

Concrete House I

(images via: a-cero)
Completed in 2006, the Concrete House (I) is a contemporary residence in Pozuelo de Alorcón, Spain. The solid-looking home is pierced by a number of unexpected hallways, courtyards and other voids, and decorated along the exterior by architectural projections like a black pergola extending out to the swimming pool.

Vivienda 19

(images via: a-cero)
Straight lines and simple shapes dominate this Madrid house, made of Travertine marble. The combination of all the white, large windows and built-in lighting give it a light feel despite the heaviness of its materials.

A Coruña

(images via: contemporist)
This home stands out among A-cero’s accomplishments simply because it’s not solid white, but rather a beautiful contrast of black and white marble. The L-shape of the house was determined by a triangular, sloped site, with the interior angle opening to a view of the estuary of A Coruña in Spain.

Apartment Renovation

(images via: freshome)
A-cero’s structures are so dazzling, it’s hard not to get caught up in the exteriors and forget about the interiors all together. But this apartment renovation in Galicia, Spain is one example of how the firm can infuse a space with its particular brand of aesthetics. Of course, the apartment is full of high-contrast colors and materials as well as lots of curves and geometric shapes.

facebook status - Star Wars IV Survives: Real Life Tatooine Located in Tunisia

Yes, you can spend the night in Luke Skywalker’s home, see the hermit habitat of Obi-Wan Kenobi up close, and view other remnants of the original Star Wars movie via a series sets turned since turned into long-standing habitable buildings (contemporary on-location photos above by Könczöl Gábor and maciekke).
(Images by Hoylen Sue)
Los Apos provides an introductory guide with coordinates should you find yourself wandering Tunisia – meanwhile, here are some of the highlights of the journey, including bits and pieces of the fictional Mos Eisley and Espa.
(Images by Eckart and Michael)
Some of these buildings survive the first film trilogy, while others were rebuilt for the second series (or first, depending on how you look at it). But why? Because, in many cases, locals saw the structures as entirely serviceable and kept using them for housing, hotels, shops, storage and more.
(Images by Bernard Gagnon and Jean-Marc Matthey)
Some of the locations cater to fans: “In Matmata you can actually sleep in Luke’s home. The Hotel Sidi Driss served as the interior of the Lars homestead. Aunt Beru’s kitchen is still there, but except for some fiberglass and wooden frames, and the fresco on the dining room ceiling, you won’t find any props. Even so, it is easy to get excited when sitting in the very same dining room that the Lars family used. The hotel also has a well stocked bar with lots of Star Wars memorabilia and a Star wars inspired menu.”
(Images by Roger Noguera Arnau)
Savvy fans will recognize even building-free locations where Sandcrawlers roamed, Tusken Raiders pounced or Stormtroopers attacked. These are, one might say, the landscapes you are looking for. Still, whether the trip will spoil the fun or enhance the fantasy all depends on the traveler.

facebook status - 6 THINGS MEN IN LOVE DO (DOES HE REALLY LIKE ME?)

Today, I wanted to show the reverse side of that with a few signs of when a man is feeling a woman.

Before I get into this one, though, I’d like to give a disclaimer that these aren’t universal for every single man, as everyone and every scenario is different. These are just things I’ve noticed in my own personal dealings with women and should be taken as a guide of sorts into the actions of a man in love, or just one that likes you a heck of a lot.
Without further adieu, here are 6 Things a Man Does When He’s Feeling You…
HE’LL CALL
Sounds simple enough, but in an age where we text, FaceBook, tweet, BBM and do everything butpick up a phone and call, a man making an effort to reach out to talk to a woman speaks volumes. I’m a notorious multi-tasker that falls victim to the ease of electronic communication but it lacks the personal nuances of direct communication.
It’s one thing to have someone call me and I hold a conversation, but if I find myself thinking of a female and longing to hear her voice, chances are I’m feeling her in some way. Drunk dials and booty calls don’t count, only conversations where the man is expressing genuine interest in getting to know a woman.
HE’LL LISTEN
A lot of people don’t realize it, but listening is an art form. Half of the time when people are talking we’re not listening to the other person we’re only waiting to interject with our own response. Men are the guiltiest of this because a lot of women are longwinded and tend to ramble. Hey, that’s probably sexist but for argument’s sake let’s just say that it’s true.
I’ve found myself caught up in plenty of one-sided conversations with women where I could give a rat’s ass about what she was talking about. Whenever I catch myself spacing out and having no interest in her story or what she finds important, I take that as a sign that this woman isn’t the one for me. Yeah, she might be cute and I could be attracted to her; but if she can’t hold my interest in conversation then what’s the point?
On the flipside, when I’m paying attention and communication is flowing both ways there might be hope. In fact, it’s usually when I’m listening and actually interested that I remember important things like a woman’s birthday, favorite flower, movie or color, how many siblings she has and what she said 10 minutes ago. Conversations about s** don’t count, again, only ones where a man is genuinely interested in getting to know a woman.
HE’LL WATCH/DO SOMETHING HE WOULDN’T NORMALLY
Men are very particular about certain things, especially movies and TV shows. I can’t count how many times I’ve heard men say how they’ve never seen Brokeback Mountain based off the fact it’s a homosexual love story. But if a woman they were really feeling was dying to see that film or something comparable and equally woman-friendly (i.e. Sex & the City and any one of Tyler Perry’s movies) there’s a strong possibility he might bend.
I for one have been roped into watching something I never thought I would because of a woman I was feeling or in love with. My college/live-in girlfriend had a thing for Golden Girls and every night she would watch it, while I’d much rather check out Star Trek: The Next Generation, but because she was my boo I bit the bullet and suffered through Blanche, Dorothy Rose and Sophia’s antics night after night. I now cringe anytime I come across that show.
I’ve also been subjected to watching shows like BridezillaBad Girls Club and the Food Network, as well as sappy chick flicks, for the sake of a woman that had my heart. Sometimes, as with Bad Girls Club, which features scantily clad women cat fighting, I secretly learned to like the shows, but I’d be damned if I admitted that to any of my boys. (Technically, I just did though—Doh!). But a man that gives up control of the remote (and movie tickets) to a woman is a sign he’s feeling you in my book.

HE’LL GO SHOPPING WITH YOU
Ever since I was little boy I hated going shopping with my mother because it was long, tedious and ultra boring. As an adult, I’ve had pretty much the same experience during shopping sprees with the fairer sex. Women stop at every store and section, fawning over the cutest dress/skirt/sweater/blouse/top/jacket, weighing the options of ever accessory and trying on every pair of shoes on sale—no matter if they already have something in the exact same color.
Any man that gets dragged along for the experience is usually bored out of his mind. He’s stuck standing outside the dressing room waiting for her to make a selection out of the several items she’s decided to try on, only to repeat the process as she discovers something that she’s missed while en route to the register. If given the option, most men will pass on the tagalong shopping experience.
However, when a man’s feeling a woman he might not only grin and bear it, but actually participate. A straight man that appreciates how his woman looks might willingly chime in on her outfit and enjoy the mini-modeling show of having her try on different outfits for his approval. Trips to Victoria’s Secret don’t count because what man wouldn’t appreciate a potential lingerie peep show.
HE’LL CRY
For the most part, men are not emotional creatures so crying is the ultimate form of opening up. Now, it’s not like guys are running around shedding tears at every opportunity but in the rare instances where one does it should be noted. Crying is a major display of vulnerability and if a man breaks down in front of a woman because of a death in the family or a similarly tragic experience it displays a considerable amount of trust in her.
Speaking from experience, I’ve shed a tear or two in the past during an intense heart to heart with the then-woman in my life about the death of my grandfather or some painful experience. Being able to express myself in that way was extremely difficult but showed a level of emotional intimacy that a man wouldn’t just share with anyone.
The flipside of the crying scenario is a man shedding tears at the end of a relationship. If a man had no feelings for the woman at all it would be no problem, but a man breaking down over a breakup shows that he truly cared about her. The fake sobs of a man busted for cheating don’t count, though.
HE’LL SAY “I LOVE YOU,” …AND ACTUALLY MEAN IT
Anyone can say “I love you,” but actually meaning it is a whole other ball game. The hard part is discerning when a man is being genuine and not just running game. If the L-word gets uttered during the throes of passion, then it should be taken with a grain of salt, as good s** will make people say and do almost anything. The true test of a man’s feelings comes from his actions.
I’m the type of individual that only says what I mean, so if “I love you” spews out of my mouth there should be an understanding that I mean it. However, not everyone is as honorable. There are individuals that will claim they love you until they’re blue in the face, yet these are the ones who are continually cheating and lying. As I’ve said before, words have no real value without meaning.
Man in love with a woman will not only say it but he will show it. He’ll call you when he misses you. He’ll listen to you when you’re talking. He’ll make sacrifices to make you happy. He’ll be emotionally available and willing to express himself with you. He’ll mean what he says and do whatever it takes to make you feel like the most important woman in the world.
Do you appreciate someone that’s interested in you actually calling as opposed to texting? How important is voice-to-voice communication in determining whether or not you like someone? Do you agree that listening is an art form? Does good conversation enhance your attraction for someone? Do you appreciate someone that’s willing to sacrifice their time to do something you’re interested in? Do you see crying as a very intimate experience between two people? Would you lose or gain respect for someone that was able to cry in front of you? Have you ever said “I love you” and not meant it? Why? What signs do you use to tell if someone is genuinely in love with you?
Speak your piece…

facebook status - I hate Monday… It Causes Heart Attacks!

In Scotland, a group of very well known scientists conducted a research with the help of information on 80,000 people who have died from a heart disease during the period between 1986 and 1995. This decade showed them that, compared to the rest of the week, Monday was the day that saw the most people pass away.

Both sexes and different ages were counted in order to reach a conclusion that about 20% more of the cases happen on Mondays. This result, though, is just the beginning of many other studies that need to be realized. The reason behind the gathered information may be the abundance of alcohol and sudden relaxation during the weekends, as well as the stress caused by the first day of work.

facebook status - The Worst Location for a House: the Middle of a Motorway (8 pics)

When the local government of the city of Wenling, China, decided to build a new motorway, they offered all residents occupying the land, relocation compensation. However, this elderly couple refused to move as they felt that the offer was too low to cover the cost of rebuilding. As a result, the motorway was built around their home and the house now stands right in the middle of the newly built motorway. Cars travelling on the road are forced to drive around the stranded building.

facebook status - 40 Incredible Examples of Optical Illusions in Photos

Some find them frustrating, while others just can’t get enough – optical illusions is something that will always leave you perplexed and questioning your eyesight. We all know the classic young girl turning into an old lady portrait, or sets of geometric figures that turn out to be of a different size than it appeared. Optical illusions are images that differ from the objective reality. But how do they work?
Basically, it’s our minds trying to find the easiest way to look at things. At a first glance, we try to relate the image with the most basic and close interpretation of it, and only after a few seconds do we realize that separate details of the image don’t even make sense.
